Learn to drive automatic in Barry in as little as 1–9 days, with DVSA-approved instructors who know your local test routes.
Barry is a vibrant coastal town in the Vale of Glamorgan, and it's an ideal location for learners taking an intensive automatic driving course. With no clutch or gears to worry about, an automatic crash course lets you focus purely on road awareness, observation and confidence – helping you learn to drive in one week and achieve a fast pass.
Our intensive automatic driving courses in Barry are designed to maximise your progress in the shortest possible time. From the coastal roads near Barry Island to the busier routes heading toward Cardiff, you'll gain varied, all-round experience. Each day of tuition builds on the last, creating a consistent learning journey that traditional weekly lessons simply can't match.
Our DVSA-approved instructors know the Barry area thoroughly and will familiarise you with the roads and conditions you're likely to face during your practical driving test. Our fast track driving courses are focused on producing safe, capable drivers who pass their driving test fast – not just test passers.
Automatic crash courses are perfect for nervous learners, those who've struggled with manual gears, or anyone who simply wants the quickest route to a licence. We offer flexible packages – from a focused few days to a full 1 week driving course – plus short notice driving courses when you need to get on the road quickly.
Every manual intensive driving course with Intensive Driving Courses Wales includes: 1-to-1 tuition with a fully qualified, experienced local driving instructor.
Q: Is the practical test included in the course price? A:No. Since the 12th May 2026 Driving Schools are no longer allowed to book or change driving tests for pupils. The Driving Test has to be booked by the pupil. Full details are shown on our Prices & Guide page. Q: How quickly can I start a manual intensive course? A: Start dates depend on instructor availability, your location and whether you already have a theory and practical test booked. We will always give you a realistic timescale when you enquire, rather than over-promising. Q: What happens if I am not test-ready by the end of my course? A: Your instructor will give you honest feedback throughout. If more hours are needed, we will explain your options clearly so you can decide whether to move a test date or arrange additional lessons. Q: How do payments and deposits work? A: We normally take a deposit to secure your course and any remaining balance is due before tuition starts. Please read the payment and cancellation information on our Terms & Conditions page before booking.
